In Magnificat, Motawi distills Edie Harper’s larger composition—a cat resting atop a church organ—into a striking arrangement of black-and-white fur. Reduced to its essential geometry, the design retains the quiet tension and watchful presence of the original work. 

The deep black field and pale shapes create a bold sense of contrast, while the simplified forms reward closer attention. 

Handcrafted in Ann Arbor, Michigan, using Motawi’s time-honored Cuenca technique. 

Actual tile size: 3-7/8" square

Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.
